I like to have a selection of lipstick on my desk. And I need a selection because I’m a Libra and we like balance and choice and honestly why have one go-to lipstick when you can have four.
Tanya Burr Cosmetics in Central Park
This is the bold bad boy. I don’t really watch Tanya’s videos any more but I gotta admit I’m a fan of her lipstick formula. I also like how the packaging looks fancy. This is a bright pink and it useful for the days when I match my lipstick to my top (see below).
YSL Tatouage Matte Couture in No.7
I bought this matte lip stain because Into The Gloss said Beyonce had it. It’s the most money I’ve ever spent on a lip product and also the most worth it. This is a perfect ‘my lips but better’ shade, the light watery formula means it isn’t drying like a proper matte lipstick, and it sits well over and under balm. PLUS the packaging doesn’t just look fancy, it IS fancy.
Charlotte Tilbury in Walk of Shame
I like this because on the days where my lips are a bit darker/more red this looks super natural. You can build it up to a deep, evening ready burgundy or rub a light layer in to be more like a stain. The ultimate ‘day to night’ lipstick, even though I don’t really have any day to night things and if I did you can bet that I would bring in a whole new lewk anyway for something that exciting. Added bonus points because it’s a fun naughty name for your corporate environment.
Fenty Beauty Mattemoiselle in Single
This is a really nice matte coral neutral shade and when I put it on it makes it look like I tried a lot harder than I did. I have mentioned time and time and time again how dry I am, but the Fenty matte lipsticks are the only ones (YSL not included because different type of lipstick) I really like.
OBVIOUSLY there are lots of glosses that I love, but my glosses tend to live with me in handbags instead of making a home on my desk. And if I don’t have a gloss on then I normally just slap on a coat of my trusty favourite, Aquaphor. It really is the best.
